Thought for the Week

How much of God in Jesus Christ do you have? How much of you does God in Jesus
Christ have? The great, great, great promise of today - Pentecost is that "God declares
that I will POUR out my Spirit on all flesh."

Let God have all of you and you decide/receive all of God in Jesus Christ!

Blessings and Joy in the strong Name of the Trinity

Our Weekly Discipleship Reflection.
Our theme is, Becoming Like Jesus by Being with Jesus' Word/Teaching/Life.

First, our Scripture:

Matt 14:28, "Peter answered Jesus, 'Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.' Jesus said, 'Come.'" So Peter got out of the boat, started walking on the water, and came towards Jesus. But when he noticed the strong wind, he became  frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, 'Lord, save me!' Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him, saying to him, 'You of little faith, why did you doubt?' When they got into the boat, the wind ceased. And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, 'Truly you are the Son of God.'"

Second, our Thought:
Is it expected of Christian disciples to walk on water or to worship the living God revealed to us in Jesus Christ our Lord? If the above incident teaches us anything about Christian discipleship; it teaches us that what is most expected of Christian disciples is to Worship God and not to walk on water. What is the difference? The difference is faith in the living God which always leads to worshiping the living God. So, once again if we are to be like Jesus, let us learn daily to "trust," in the living God with all that we are, with all that we say, with all that we do and with all that we possess today and always.

Third, our Prayers:
Thank you heavenly Father for giving to us the faith that is alive and well and strong in you. We pray that as our days increase so will our faith and trust and confidence in you increase a hundred fold today and in the days to come so that we will worship you in season and out of season today and always for your glory. We pray that in all that we are, in all that we say, in all that we do and in all that we possess; we will always Hallow your Name, we will always do your will and we will always seek your Kingdom to come in us and through us today and always. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, we pray. Amen & Amen.

Fourth, reflect on this possibility:

What is the one thing [or more than one thing]; the Lord, needs to save you from?
